Edmonton Accountant

We are looking for a new accounting firm at work. Based on the number of hours for data entry, the quotes are pretty high. My boss wants to have me do most of the data entry and just have the accounting firm tie up month end. However, our old accounting firm is telling us that most accounting firms would not feel comfortable doing that. Is this true? I would think you could hire an accounting firm to do whatever parts of the accounting cycle you need and wouldn’t be required to hire them for everything if you didn’t need it.

So, I want a career in Accounting or Finance in the future.
I will be attending an community college in the fall, and I couldn’t find accounting but accounting tech/bookkeeping. Is it the same thing?
Im planning to transfer to get my BS in accounting, so I shouldn’t worry about cc accounting?

I am part-time tax preparer, and looking for opportunities to work in accounting field. I am taking Financial Accounting, Accounting Software (Quickbooks, Excel Spreadsheets, and MS Dynamic GP), and Payroll accounting in local college. I have few years of retail management experience but not directly in accounting field. I don’t have an accounting degree. What are the chances for me to get a job in accounting?
